Asghar Farhadi's appearance on stage was surreal
There is something surreal about seeing Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi standing on the stage accepting an award for best foreign film from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for "A Separation." Especially considering his eloquent short speech came after Judd Apatow's dismissive and profanity filled acceptance speech for "Bridesmaids'" best comedy win. Oh, and the escalating political tensions between the U.S. and his homeland.
