"Save Me" (NBC)
Why we're intrigued: Anne Heche stars as a drunken, adulterous mess who changes her ways after a near-death experience leaves her convinced she can communicate with God. It takes a brave actress to wade into rocky personal territory you've had documented by ravenous tabloids. Heche is a brave actress. And this oddball dramedy, originally developed for Showtime, looks equally brave for network TV.
Why we're cautious: Maybe it should've stayed on Showtime? A premise that fits right into the world of "Weeds," "United States of Tara" and "The Big C"... A cable friendly actress in Heche... An upfront promo reel that featured lovely co-star Alexandra Breckenridge spouting an uncensored use of "bats--t"... Good luck, NBC!
