Will Ferrell in "Everything Must Go"
"Everything Must Go"
Who: Will Ferrell, Rebecca Hall
What: A man loses his job and wife after he begins drinking again and decides to start over by holding a yard sale. A new neighbor may be the spark he's looking for.
Why: Ferrell has rarely dived into dramatic waters ("Winter's Passing," the underrated "Stranger than Fiction"), but has the tools to be more than an over the top funny man. This is director and screenwriter Dan Rush's feature debut, but its based on a short story by famed writer Raymond Carver so hope abounds. Oh, and Hall is no slouch either.
[Hoping to be picked up]
