10 music artists ready for a comeback

No Doubt
Oh Gwen Stefani, you tease us so. We’ve been waiting for a new No Doubt album for a decade, as incredible as that seems. The So Cal band’s last studio set was 2001’s “Rock Steady.” In January, guitarist Tom Dumont posted on the group’s website the he understood our confusion and gave an update: after writing and demoing in 2010, the band went back into the studio to starting recording in January. YAY! No so YAY! (although we’re very happy for them personally): Dumont wrote of two impending delays: new babies for him and for bassist Tony Kanal.
Likelihood of a full comeback: The jury is out. No Doubt has done an exceptional job of staying in the spotlight through occasional touring and savvy management, plus Stefani’s tabloid status (not to mention her role as L’Oreal spokeswoman). But unless the music really stands up to ND’s past hits, radio might not pay attention, though they’ll probably always have a touring base.
