Will 'Three Days to Kill's' Kevin Costner join their ranks?
1. Anton Chigurh, 'No Country For Old Men' (2007)
As one of Cormac McCarthy's darkest creations (and that's saying quite a bit), Javier Bardem won a richly-deserved Oscar for inhabiting the dead-eyed sadist with the deceptively dopey hair who is on the trail of Josh Brolin and a satchel of stolen drug money in the Coen Bros.' pitch black Southwestern thriller. As memorable for his discomforting demeanor as for his sinister compressed air gun, Chigurh could be the scariest movie villain of our time. Call it, friendo.
