Why it's legendary: Tarantino had only been to Comic-Con once (for "Grindhouse"), so the always talkative and charismatic filmmaker entertained the Hall H faithful with all the pent-up energy of a college freshman just excited to meet his new dorm mate. What the audience didn't know they were going to get, however, was eight-plus minutes of footage from a movie that wasn't your stereotypical Comic-Con flick (granted, it was the same press at Cannes saw). This writer described it at the time as going over like "gangbusters," and that might have been an understatement. It was a huge win for QT and The Weinstein Company and proved they had a major commercial hit on their hands.
