Catherine Keener
Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) has American siblings, doesn't she? And with Shirley MacLaine already on deck as Cora's flamboyant mom, we can imagine Keener stepping up in almost any capacity. She's played ruthless ("Being John Malkovich"), sweet ("The 40 Year Old Virgin") and everything in between, always brilliantly. She'd add a modern edge to Downton that could be a perfect complement to the show's transition to 20th century mores.
