Ian McKellen
In real life, Ian McKellen is old friends with Dame Maggie Smith (The Countess of Grantham), so why not give these two great actors a chance to have some fun? On "Downton," he Countess has been so busy medling in everyone else's affairs, it would certainly be a game changer for her to have a gentleman caller -- and McKellan could not only go toe-to-toe with Smith's ornery character, he could add a wry undercurrent of humor to any scene. We know he's busy, but maybe Smith could make the case for him to show up for a few episodes. Please?
