Will Smith, "Seven Pounds" (2008)
Will Smith initially found interesting purchase with director Gabriele Muccino. He once said his experience working with the director and with Michael Mann on "Ali" made for the most professionally rewarding outings of his career. 2006's "The Pursuit of Happyness" landed him a Best Actor nomination for the actor and introduced the world to his son, Jaden. A follow-up collaboration seemed like it could have taken things to the next level. Alas, it crashed and burned, with a plot so painfully earnest and soggy that critics couldn't dismiss it fast enough.
