All due respect to The Jarmacus Brothers, but this is the segment people remember from Christoph Waltz’s successful hosting gig. In a season in which “SNL” seemed increasingly unwilling to approach anything remotely offensive, in stepped in this preproduced segment to shock the audience into wave after wave of helpless laughter. Waltz’s presence lent the proceedings the necessary gravitas to pull off its over-the-top approach, highlighting that “SNL” is almost always better when it employs people who are great actors versus those that can simply generate media buzz. (We’re looking at you, Bieber.)
