I have only one further recommendation to add in that reguard and that is tales of the demon which covers a lot of the Ra's Al Ghul stories printed. Scott Snyder's final run on detective comics just before the reboot is also pretty amazing although not really relevant to Nolan's efforts. Also Gail Simone's 36 issue series of the Secret Six is a great read centered around a group of villains to which bane belongs.
