Real Name: Sam Wilson

First Appearance: Captain America #117 (Sept. 1969)

Powers: An ability to communicate and see through the eyes of his bird Redwing.  He's also displayed the power to see through other birds eyes when Redwing is out of range and to control birds to do his bidding. The latter abilities are relatively new and its unclear how developed they are.  Falcon uses a set of technologically advanced wings which allows him to fly.  He's also an excellent hand to hand combatant thanks to training form his good friend Captain America.

Hero or Villain: Hero

Why: Falcon has one cool costume, the movie franchise needs more flying heroes besides Iron Man and Thor (although we haven't seen him fly outside his own film yet), and while it's great Nick Fury is being played by the one and only Samuel L. Jackson the big screen Avengers could use a bit more racial diversity.  Especially considering how the group has been progressively diverse in the comic books for decades.
