Date of Birth: March 11, 1989
Best Known For: Chekov in "Star Trek," the young Kyle Reese in "Terminator: Salvation," and Charlie in the "Fright Night" remake.
Why: Yelchin has a great sincerity, and he can play vulnerable as well. The Flash doesn't have to be a big giant muscle-bound dude. That's part of what makes him a pleasant change from Batman or Superman. The Flash should be a lighter presence, a lighter character. If you're building out a universe on film, you don't want every single film to feel the same, and not every character is driven by the same thing. Yelchin could easily play the right energy as The Flash...
Why not: … but so far, it's still unclear what the audience thinks of him. He seems like a nice kid, but is he The Flash? Marvel has made some out-of-left field choices for their films so far, but they've paid off, and if DC is going to pull off The Flash, they need someone who more charismatic than "nice."
