NHL Playoffs: Detroit Red Wings at Anaheim Ducks
May 12, 2013TV Network - NBCSN
In Game 6, Detroit did almost everything right, and held a comfortable 3-1 lead with 5 minutes left in regulation. That is when things fell apart, and the Ducks scored 2 goals before the end of regulation forcing overtime. The Red Wings composed themselves and scored the game winner a minute into the extra period, forcing the final and decisive game. Anaheim is the better team this season, and have showed their strength in some of the games this series, but as Detroit has shown, you can never count the Red Wings out of a game, let alone an entire series. Game 7 should be the best game in what has been an incredible series.

The Ducks entered the playoffs as the number two seed in the West and that means that they get to play the seven seed and get home ice advantage. Is it really an advantage to be playing the Red Wings though? Detroit, no mattter where they sit in the playoffs is a force to be reckoned with and they have been for years. Do not be fooled by the seeds here, the Ducks can't let down their guard if they want to win this one.

The Ducks are hosting the Red Wings tonight as this series opens in Anaheim. We will, almost certainly, tell you this again, but just because the Ducks are the two seed and the Red Wings are the seven seed you shouldn't be counting the Red Wings out. Detroit is a tough squad and the task the Ducks have ahead of them is not going to be an easy one. They need to make sure to maintain that home ice advantage by winning tonight.
