Junky Star is Bingham's 3rd album of gravelly voiced Americana on the Lost Highway label. I guess that would make it his junior year album, if records were college. So, so glad they're not. After the Oscar success of his song "The Weary Kind" Bingham recorded this one quickly, to keep the edges raw. "Hallelujah" you'll be glad to know is not the the Leonard Cohen song, but one of his own devising. Alleluia.
