The basic idea of this series - we kid you not - is to use scientific data to reconstruct mythological figures to see what they would have been like if they had ever existed. Tonight, for the premiere, they're going to look at the Kraken. We have to wonder if they factor into their calculations the exact manner in which Davy Jones utilized the Kraken in "Pirates." Not only do the actions of Jones inform us about what the beast is capable of today, but perhaps his being able to wield the beast lets us know a little bit more about it as well.
