We always think of the holidays as being a time for snow and hot chocolate and all things wintery. But, out in Pasadena, CA, things are not cold (unless you're a SoCal type and define 'cold' as less than 65 and it's an off day today). So, travel out to Pasadena today--at least through your television--and watch the 124th Tournament of Roses Parade unfold before you. It is a New Year's Day tradition, an institution, and if you don't watch... well... we can just about promise that the flowers will wilt in your absence. Yes, they'll wilt anyway, but that's not the point.
