The men who perpetrated the deed are two crooked cops who are on the take from Sonny--and who may blow Vinnie's cover just as he is about to be inducted as a full member of the Steelgrave operation. It is up to Vinnie's OCB contact Frank (Jonathan Banks) to keep the situation from getting beyond control. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Wiseguy: Prodigal Son When his mother Carlotta (Elsa Raven) is brutally mugged, Vinnie (Ken Wahl) decides to risk blowing his cover by telling her that he isn't a crook, but instead an undercover agent. Things take a sinister turn when Vinnie discovers that the man who beat up his mom has ties with Vinnie's crime-kingpin "pal" Sonny Steelgrave (Ray Sharkey). Meanwhile, our hero's OCB contacts Frank (Jonathan Banks) and Lifeguard (Jim Byrnes) struggle mightily to prevent Vinnie from literally outliving his usefulness. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Wiseguy: The Marriage of Heaven and Hell Mobster Sonny Steelgrave (Ray Sharkey) schemes to increase his power by marrying the daughter of the Baglia crime family. At the same time, Sonny's "best friend" Vinnie (Ken Wahl)--actually a federal agent--is order to "hit" Sonny on the day of the wedding by Pat "The Cat" Patrice (Joe Dellasandro). But when the smoke clears, someone other than Sonny is lying dead--and Vinnie's OCB contract Frank (Jonathan Banks) is on the verge of closing down the Steelgrave operation once and for all. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Wiseguy: Pilot, Part 1 Released from Newark State Penitentiary after an 18-month stretch, Vinnie Terranova (Ken Wahl) apparently wants nothing more out of life than to plunge back into the criminal pool. Getting a job as a busboy at a restaurant frequented by the Steelgrave crime family, Vinnie connives to get on the good side of Sonny Steelgrave (Ray Sharkey), who takes such a liking to the pugnacious ex-con that he hires Vinnie as his personal driver. What Sonny doesn't know is that Vinnie is an undercover agent, working for the anti-crime organization OCB--and that his arrest and release was all part of a master plan to topple the Steelgrave empire. Originally telecast as a single two-hour TV movie, the pilot episode of Wiseguy has since been re-edited as two one-hour episodes for syndicaiton. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Wiseguy: New Blood Undercover agent Vinnie (Ken Wahl) has managed to infiltrate the Steelgrave crime family and has been put in charge of the waterfront "action" formerly handled by Grecco, discredited lieutenant of Sonny Steelgrave (Ray Sharkey). Meanwhile, an ambitious new DA (Vic Polizos) has vowed to clean up the Steelgrave mob, specifically targetting Vinnie and other second-echelon functionaries. Will the "moles" placed in Sonny's organization inadvertently blow Vinnie's cover--and what can he do about it short of killing the people on his "own side"? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Wiseguy: The Birthday Surprise Vinnie's cousin Danny is killed by Kiki Vanno (Nestor Serrano, a g
