A Colt is My Passport A crafty hitman and his cunning sidekick attempt a daring escape after carrying out a high-profile contract and incurring the wrath of a vicious gang in director Takashi Nomura's hard-boiled noir thriller. A gang looking to get rid of a rival boss hires a seasoned hitman (Jo Shishido) to get the job done right. With his trusty sniper rifle in hand and his longtime sidekick (Jerry Fujido) by his side, the assassin manages to hit his mark and make a quick getaway. Before they can board their getaway plan, however, the boss' thugs manage to snatch them up. Later, after managing a narrow escape, the desperate pair makes their way to a cheap trucker hotel just outside of Yokohama. Upon attempting to catch a boat bound for foreign shores, Shishido and his right hand man become locked into an explosive gun battle with the vicious gangsters who have vowed to send their boss' killer straight to hell. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

The filmmaker behind such outrageous Japanese cult classics as Female Yakuza Tale, Teruo Ishii, returns to the director's chair to offer a fitting epitaph to his prolific career with a lurid adaptation of Edogawa Rampo's legendary novel. A dark tale of mystery and illusion featuring performances by manga artist Lily Franky, Tetsuo: The Iron Man director Shinya Tsukamoto, Suicide Club director Shion Sono, Sumo Vixens director Takao Nakano, Hole in the Sky director Kazuyoshi Kumakiri, and Black Jack director Makoto Tezuka, as well as special appearances by prolific actor Tetsuro Tamba and performance artist Hisayoshi Hirayama, Blind Beast vs. Killer Dwarf takes viewers on a bizarre and erotic voyage into the realms of sex and death while weaving the nightmarish tale of a dime-novel writer's strange encounter with a misshapen dwarf and a kidnapped actress from an all-female operetta company. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Chiaki Kuriyama (Kill Bill, Vol. 1) and prolific character actor Ren Osugi (Nightmare Detective) star in Suicide Club director Sion Sono's alternately satirical and terrifying tale of hirsute horror. Yuko (Kuriyama) is a eager apprentice at the Gilles de Rais salon who dreams of one day becoming a famous hair stylist. As a child Yuko was tormented by her sadistic older sister Kiyomi (Tsugumi), though these days the abusive sibling is more inclined to satisfy her mean streak by abusing her own subservient daughter Maki (Miku Sato). Meanwhile, on a nearby freight car, the corpse of a young woman who appears to have become an unwilling organ donor is discovered in a massive nest of hair. When the corpse arrives at the local morgue, misanthropic hair fetishist Yamazaki (Osugi) abducts the cadaver after noticing that it produces an endless wave of hair from every orifice and incision. But these aren't your typical passive locks; strangely they seem to exhibit a life of their own. In order to turn a tidy profit, Yamazaki soon begins selling the strands to local salons so that they may be made into hair extensions. Later, when the murderous manes begin turning on the heads that hold them, the battle between two sisters for the custody of the frightened Maki is soon interrupted by a most unusual development. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
