This 1993 box-office smash partly adheres to the 1960s TV series on which it is based and partly goes off on several tangents of its own. Harrison Ford stars as Dr. Richard Kimble, convicted of murdering his wife. While being transferred to prison by bus, Kimble is involved in a spectacular bus-train collision (one of the best of its kind ever filmed). Surviving the disaster, Kimble escapes, vowing to track down the elusive professional criminal whom he holds responsible for the murder. Dogging the fugitive every foot of the way is U.S. marshal Sam Gerard (an Oscar-winning turn by Tommy Lee Jones), who announces his intention to search "every whorehouse, doghouse, and outhouse" to bring Kimble to justice. Unlike his dour TV-series counterpart Barry Morse, Jones plays the role with a sardonic sense of humor: when a cornered Kimble screams, "I didn't kill my wife," Gerard shrugs and famously replies, "I don't care." Once the premise has been established, scripters Jeb Stuart and David Twohy and director Andrew Davis pull off several audacious plot twists, ranging from Kimble's rendezvous with a sympathetic lab technician to a jaw-dropping dive into a huge waterfall. The second half of the film offers one surprise after another (including the true identity of the murderer), brilliantly avoiding the letdown that plagues many movie adaptations of old TV series. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Includes:Queen of the Elephants (1994) Africa's Elephant Kingdom (1998), MPAA Rating: NR Queen of the Elephants This video chronicles the story of people making a 300-mile journey through the forests of India. Their steeds are mighty Indian elephants, now on the list of endangered species. Author Mark Shand is led by Parbati Barua, who is a Rajah's daughter and elephant driver, through the spectacular Indian countryside. Just as each of the riders is a unique character, each elephant has its own distinctive personality, and the film captures them all with humor and sensitivity. The incredible strength and power of the elephants are illustrated, along with their capacity for love and affection. The viewer gains a deepened appreciation and empathy for the plight of the Indian elephant. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie Guide Africa's Elephant Kingdom Discovery Channel Pictures/Imax Corporation Michael Caulfield directs this 40-minute Imax documentary about African elephants, traveling over Mount Kilimanjaro, and Kenyan waterfalls, rivers, and forests. A large 60-year-old elephant known as Old Bull (voice of Avery Brooks) recalls the history of his clan and relationships in elephant society -- babies to mothers, mothers to families, and families to clans. Clan members are seen in competition for mates, raising children, and searching for food. With the onset of a severe drought, the clan migrates in a journey across vast stretches of land in search of dwindling sources of food and water, triumphant in one glorious moment when the long-awaited rains finally arrive. Music by Roger Mason. ~ Bhob Stewart, All Movie Guide

Includes:Wrong Turn (2003), MPAA Rating: R Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007) Wrong Turn 3 (2009) Wrong Turn A turn down an uncharted dirt road leads six young people into a night of pure terror in this horror story. Chris (Desmond Harrington) is driving through West Virginia on his way to a job interview when an auto accident slows highway traffic to a near standstill. Afraid he'll be late, Chris takes a detour down an old dirt road; a distracted Chris doesn't see an SUV stuck in the middle of the road before it's too late, and he plows into the back after his tires suddenly blow. The driver of the SUV, Jessie (Eliza Dushku), was out on a camping trip with four of her friends -- Evan (Kevin Zegers), Francine (Lindy Booth), Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), and Scott (Jeremy Sisto) -- when their tires went out, and as Jessie and Chris compare notes on their accidents, they discover that the road has been sabotaged with barbed wire. With both parties in need of a telephone, Evan and Francine are left to look after the cars while the other four set out to find help. However, Evan and Francine soon discover they've been led into a horrible trap, and as Chris, Jessie, and their friends search for help, they find that they've fallen victim not to local pranksters, but a gang of inbred backwoods killers with a taste for blood. Wrong Turn was produced in part by Stan Winston, a legendary special-effects artist whose work has appeared in such films as Jurassic Park, Aliens, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide Wrong Turn 2: Dead End The malformed mayhem continues as a group of reality game show contestants descend into the West Virginia wilderness in order to participate in an apocalypse-themed game show, only to be brutally killed off by a deranged clan of redneck cannibals. Dale Murphy (Henry Rollins) is a former special forces soldier who now hosts a reality game show in which contestants must struggle to survive in the wilderness with few resources and only their wits to guide them. After the members of the group are split up into partners, they are sent into the woods to locate supplies that have been strategically hidden by the show's producers. Should they fail to achieve this and various other tasks, they will be sent back to civilization in shame while the others vie for substantial cash prize. But the cameras aren't the only things watching as the competition heats up, because within these woods dwells a terrifying secret. Later, as the day goes on and the body count begins to multiply, both the contestants and the hard-nosed host must fight to avoid becoming the catch of the day for a family of hungry backwoods cannibals. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide Wrong Turn 3 No synopsis available.
