I like them both but thought Davis gave a better performance. More than any of her other roles, I could really FEEL Streep acting in "The Iron Lady" and I found it a little distracting at times. |

Viola Davis gave the only performance of the five that truly drove me to tears. The iron lady is not a great movie and this is not streep's greatest role. I would prefer if not Davis, that michelle williams gets it. But honestly, Davis was outright robbed of an oscar for Doubt and I'm pretty sure that streep, who famously praised her at the SAG awards when she won for Doubt, that Meryl will be happy if Viola wins. |

Meryl Streep did not win the Oscar in an upset. The pundits and bloggers, the supposed experts, just got it plain wrong. Streep gave a towering performance, while essentially playing 2 different characters, for an entire 1:45 minute film. Davis appeared in 33 minutes of a 2:15 minute movie. She clearly was in a supporting role, with an ensemble cast. The critics and bloggers have egg on their faces and are trying to spin a Streep win as an upset. Laughable! |
