Is it just me or does it seem like almost every comedy movie that comes out has to involve a car crash or a car chase? It's getting to the point where my suspension of disbelief goes right out the window when these scenes happen.

I think it's just you, because I try really hard to remember the last car crash/chase comedy that I saw. I think it was THE HANGOVER. |

I suppose it just depends on whether it makes sense for the story...I'm sure there are instances where a car chase has been shoehorned into a comedy for whatever arbitrary reason. Can't think of any examples off the top of my head however...anyone else? |

I probably should have been more specific. I don't watch a ton of comedies but I feel like I get around to most of the highly marketed ones, which seem to be the ones that use the trope(?).
Bridesmaids - Car Accident
And this is me actively leaving out the buddy cop comedies and such.

Just watched 'Hall Pass' last night, was surprised that it was actually pretty funny.
