Anyone have any data about how much money sequels bring in compared to the original movie? What about movies in a series like the Nolan Batman series, Twilight or the Lord of the Rings? Is there a trend that the additional movies generally perform less than the original or the other way around. Though it's kind of a kids movie and based on some successful teen books, the new "Wimpy Kid" movie (http://www.ranker.com/list/diary-of-a-wimpy-kid-dog-days-movie-quotes/movie-and-tv-quotes if you've not seen the trailers yet) got me thinking about how that all works out for the studios. Anyone? Bueller?
