Haywire
You want to know the real reason "Haywire" is crazy cool? Yes, Gina Carano is gorgeous and she beats the entire rest of the cast to a pulp. Evidently for real. But that's not it. It's the Lem Dobbs/Steven Soderbergh collaboration. This script is just as much knowing winky winky fun as "The Limey." It's a film nerd's dream of a spy movie. Review and interviews forthcoming. |

Yeah I'm a huge fan of hers from MMA, looking forward to it. Haywire reminds me of action movies that were released in the 90's. I miss stand alone action movies that didn't have to be the start of some huge franchise. |

I used to get Star Wars Insider / various Lucasfilm-related mojo in the late 80s/early 90s and they were talking about Red Tails way back then. So I've always been interested in seeing it just because I've been basically hearing about it for 2 decades. And it's coming out the same week as Haywire and Haywire has a hot chick punching people in the face, directed by Steven Soderbergh. So, uh, sorry Red Tails, I guess I can wait a few more months until you hit DVD. |
