March 5, 2012 at 6:00PM EST Reply to CommentOh wow, that "salt on my deviled eggs" comment dovetailed so horrifically w/ thoughts that were already conjugated w/in my head from the previous couple sentences. Please, no more...[lol?]
War Chief Shake Zula I'll be tuning, given that I've been a fan of Hope since (almost) the beginning - and also since NCIS is on spring break this week. Hopefully, I'll be able to squeeze in some night-of DVR viewing (in addition to its pre-established place in my constantly fluid Wednesday 9pm hour) even when NCIS does first-runs up against it.
March 5, 2012 at 6:06PM ESTWar Chief Shake Zula You guys are really harping on the whole "build jokes on the references, don't just drop them into the pool" thing. For good reason, of course...

March 5, 2012 at 11:30PM ESTWar Chief Shake Zula I'd just eliminate all of Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives, even if that means ABC stays stuck in fourth in the ratings...[bazinga]
March 5, 2012 at 11:35PM ESTOn a more serious note, I wouldn't mind eliminating parts of Alias seasons 3 and 4. Maybe cobble what's left of those two in the same way you said should be done to The OC s2 and 3...and unabort the arc concerning Jack Bristow's true nature.
War Chief Shake Zula Yeah, I thought there was something up for a show that was supposed to be of "Emmy winning quality". That aforementioned half-hour in my Wednesday 9pm hour occupied by DVRed Raising Hope? It was originally the 9:30 half-hour, until I decided that MF season three wasn't doing it for me, and I swapped Hope to the 9pm half-hour in response.

odessasteps I noticed it too. And then I checked, it also was not there on a show from a couple weeks ago.

March 5, 2012 at 8:07PM EST Reply to CommentI was thinking about adding Raising Hope to my Hulu queue. Now that I hear that it is in ratings trouble I definitely will.
War Chief Shake Zula Why just add it to your queue? Watch it live, man!

March 8, 2012 at 10:23PM EST Reply to CommentWow, your opinion on Julianne Moore's performance is pretty much totally different to anything I've read in the other reviews.
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times:
"She looks about as much like Palin as she can, but that's not the point. She conveys the essence. In a way, she's unprotected. Not a hardened, cynical politician, but a woman who has gone through life expecting good things and usually found them. ... Moore conveys these feelings with tenderness and subtlety. Her performance is not a barbed parody, but based on the actress' instinctive empathy with a character."
Newsday: " 'Game Change' isn't a parody -- some extended Tina Fey skit -- nor a hatchet job. It's a portrait; and, while I can't attest to its fairness (Palin supporters have already attacked the film), I can attest to Moore's performance, which is superb. The Palin that emerges here has dimension and humanity; when you cut her, she bleeds. She yells when she gets angry, gets lonely, feels lost, and finds solace in the most important people in her life: her family. BOTTOM LINE A luminous and fully alive portrait by a first-rate actress."
