Whitney Houston spills all to Oprah on Sept. 14
Two major divas talk one-on-one, with murmurs of early appearances on morning talkshows
Set your Tivos now: Whitney Houston will appear on the 24th season opener of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Sept. 14. Houston will be promoting her new album, "I Look To You," out Aug. 31.
The hype machine is already in overdrive... as it has been for months surrounding Houston. Winfrey is calling Houston's appearance "the most anticipated music interview of the decade." For crying out loud.
This is also supposedly Houston's first interview in seven years, which would make sense since it's her first new studio album in that long, but we could swear it wasn't that long ago. Here's the good thing: Winfrey pretends to be nice, but you know she's totally going there about the drug use and ex-hubby Bobby Brown.
Rumors are flying that Houston will also appear on "Good Morning America" on Sept. 2, but not surprisingly, that performance will be taped. We don't care how much Ms. Houston wants her comeback, she's not getting up and singing for anybody that early in the morning.

August 23, 2009 at 8:36PM EST Reply to CommentThe fan in me wants her to shine and be truthful to her music life and career. I hope that Ms. Houston is able to relate, connect, and be graceful to all componets that she faces during her interview. Personally, my anticipation is based on how she could correct herself on the spot and be able to take her past attraction or attention and not be overwhelmed by those typical subjects. More important to me is her internal change and instincts. Ihope for her forward groth and mannerism to over shadow the negativity and complaints that the world has thrown at her in the past. I wish that when she has doubts she ask question and clarify what concern is involved. I hope her personal affect in the interview is gracefull and not arrogant
