Watch: Ne-Yo's track for 'The Princess and the Frog'

Does Ne-Yo get the girl?

Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo

Unless the princess looks like a gorgeous model and the frog resembles Ne-Yo, there is no link whatsoever between the video for the smooth R&B singer’s new song, “Never Knew I Needed” and the Disney animated picture, “The Princess and the Frog.” Click here for more info on the film.
Wait, about 3:45 in there is a quick shot of two frogs. There you go. Disney will appreciate that. Now it all makes sense. Plus, it’s over the end credits anyway, so as we know, it doesn’t have to tie in at all.
The video takes place in New Orleans’ French Quarter and features Ne-Yo as a waiter who wins over a gorgeous patron who has clearly never eaten beignet in her life. If we want to be metaphoric about it, I guess that makes her the princess and he’s the frog. And she does kiss Ne-Yo in the end, but we don’t see if he transforms into anything.
It’s a nice song and a pleasant enough video, but you get the feeling that the super-talented Ne-Yo can probably write these kinds of tunes in his sleep now.
