U2's stadium show, U2 360, kicks off June 30 at the Nou Camp Stadium in Barcelona.  U.S. dates start Sept. 12 at Chicago's Soldier Field.

The outing, which is the first under the band's touring deal with Live Nation, includes 14 European cities over the summer, including London, Glasgow and Berlin. Given that there are eight  weeks between the first European date and the last at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in Wales,  we're thinking U2 is planning multiple dates in each European city. The tour is in support of "No Line on the Horizon,"  the band's new album, which came out last Tuesday in the U.S. and will surely debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week.

In addition to the four North American stadiums listed below, September and October tour stops include Atlanta, Charlottesville, VA; Dallas, Houston,  Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Norman, OK; Phoenix,  Tampa, Washington, DC and Vancouver.

The show will be presented with a 360 design that can be viewed at www.U2.com.

Blackberry will present the tour-this marks Blackberry's second tour sponsorship, following its underwriting of John Mayer's tour.  This is the first time U2 has had a tour sponsor. In the tour announcement, U2's manager Paul McGuinness said this marked the beginning of "a relationship and shared vision between [Blackberry-manufacturer] RIM and U2 that we expect will lead to new and innovative ways to enhance the mobile music experience on the BlackBerry platform for U2 fans." In other words, we bet there's a U2-branded Blackberry coming that's preloaded with U2 music. The band had their own iPod a few years ago.

Among the opening acts will be Glasvegas, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas.

As we've seen with most acts, U2 is holding down prices: According to the release, 85% of the tickets will be priced $95 and less, with at least 10,000 tickets per show in the $30 range.  Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 13.
