“American Idol” contestant Haley Reinhart will drop her debut album, “Listen Up!” on May 22 on 19/Interscope.
The jazzy singer’s first single “Free,” will be for sale on March 20, but you can stream it for free now on her Facebook page. (You have to go to her page to hear it. There's a slowed down, demo version on youtube, but it's not as strong as the final track).
You can also hear her sing it on “American Idol” on March 22 and it will be in the March 27 episode of “90210.”
That makes her the most recent Season 10 contestant to release a set following Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina and James Durbin. Casey Abrams' set will come out this summer on Concord. Paul McDonald seems to be doing his own thing. We wonder what’s happening with Reinhart's Interscope labelmate,Pia Toscano?
“Free” has a jazzy, piano-based, slightly quirky feel, redolent of Regina Spektor. It's not super catchy, but it's pleasant and likeable.

Dude So not true Jake you are just a hater, if you were a fan and actually like her you would not be trashing her single. And no they did not clean up her voice one bit, she IS that good. Great song A+
March 17, 2012 at 3:23PM ESTMiguel Haley can sing in a variety of ways. I think one of the motivations of choosing "Free" as the first single is to demonstrate she can sing straight-up. I think the single is great and I hope its a huge success! I just love when she growls, I think thats one of her best parts of her voice! When she performed live on American Idol last thursday she showed me she can still growl and how amazing she is! Hit the ground Runnin should have been the first single though but this one's good too! How dare you ever say I'm hating on Haley!

April 9, 2012 at 7:58PM EST Reply to CommentWay to go Haley; I'm country fan so can't appreciate Haley's music to fullest extent....but I loved her personality on Idol and haven't seen anybody get as bad of deal as she did...Lauren A. is just awful ....an artist's personality goes along way even if ur not into a particular genre and Haley was such a class act on AI and tour. Also outstandingly attractive. Wish u the greatest of success. Congrats on 90210
