Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are clearly in a New York state of mind. The pair will record a sequel to their Big Apple anthem, “Empire State of Mind,” for inclusion on Keys’ new album, “The Element of Freedom,” out Dec. 15.
“Empire State of Mind, Part 2” will include a new verse from Jay-Z, according to MTV News. The original, which appears on Jay-Z’s chart-topping “Blueprint 3” CD, has served the New Yorkers very well: it’s been a hit at radio, plus the pair performed it at the World Series and on the MTV Video Music Awards.
