Janet Jackson posts new single: Will it make you 'Scream?'
Jackson labels 'Make Me' as a 'gift' to her fans
Janet Jackson
On the heels of her performance of "Scream" at Sunday's Video Music Awards in MTV's tribute to her brother Michael, Janet Jackson has posted a new song on her website.
"Make Me" is a collage more than an actual song. The beat-heavy track opens with Jackson breathlessly saying, "I see what you're doing," before breaking into the first chorus that sounds like [insert name of any uptempo Janet Jackson here].
The lyrics seem patched from various songs of hers and others, ranging from "we're gonna have a good time," "don't stop till you get enough" (although it's not sung to the melody of the Jackson tune and she may be saying "don't stop till you get it up"], "control," and even "It's getting hot in here..." (or should we say "herre")
There's no discernable chorus and verse structure, just some beats and random verses held together by Jackson. She's without a label right now and maybe she just felt like giving her fans a little thank you for their recent support since the only info about the song on the site are the words "A gift from Janet."
