Hotter than hot rapper Drake has inked a record deal with Lil Wayne's Young Money label. The move wasn't unexpected as  Drake starts an amphitheater tour later this month with Weezy and friends. The two also share the same management team.

Drake's "Best I Ever Had," released independently  is one of the summer's biggest hits, hitting No. 1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Tracks chart.

Young Money is affiliated with Cash Money Records, which goes through Universal Republic for distribution.

"Because it's almost impossible to go fully independent," Drake told MTV News, which broke the news.  This was basically like the closest thing I could get to my own independence, to sort of continuing to be that guy to the fans that, you know, is trying to prove something - trying to prove that it can be done. So with that being said, I signed directly to Cortez Bryant and Gee Roberson, my two managers, and their company Inspire. It's a joint venture with Young Money, so that's the deal.

Drake has been working with Pharrell Williams on the debut, titled "Thank Me Later." It is slated to come out later this year.
