Cheech and Chong's reunion has proven real fun for fans, and today they riff on 'Tron' as part of the Cinemash series

Anyone else already want a do-over for this week?

There's plenty to talk about, though, so that's good.  I'd rather have too much to discuss and not enough time than the other way around, I guess.

There's a handful of interesting new titles on DVD and BluRay this week.  "Mad Men: Season Two" is one I'm going to have to pick up.  I didn't watch the first season till home video, but I'm assuming I'll enjoy this new season just as much.  I still don't believe "The State" is really out on DVD now.  Until I am actually watching the sketches I remember, I won't believe it.  It's just taken so long, and there have been so many setbacks.  Amazing.  I know "The Towering Inferno" is trash, but it's Steve McQueen and Paul Newman, so it's entertaining trash, and now it's on BluRay, so it's high-def entertaining trash.  Works for me.  I've got the new box set of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"/"Curse Of The Golden Flower"/"House of Flying Daggers" BluRays, but the only one I didn't already own was CTHD, and I'm thrilled to add that to the stack of things to watch this week.  The insane Spanish horror film "[REC]" comes out today.  If you saw "Quarantine," the American remake, you've basically seen this film, but the Spanish original is absolutely terrifying, and worth tracking down for horror fans.  "Dakota Skye" is a microbudget charmer about a girl whose superpower is hearing the truth within any lie, and the turmoil that causes for her.  And finally, Criterion's got a BluRay version of the amazing NASA documentary "For All Mankind" coming out this week that I positively covet.

And why are they releasing it this week?  Could it be because this is the 40th anniversary of the moon landing?  If you want to relive the experience, or if you're like me and you weren't even alive when we first landed on the moon, then by all means... check out this awesome real-time recreation of what it was like.

I know some people are already rolling their eyes at the news that Morgan Spurlock's been hired to make a 20th anniversary documentary about the phenomenal success of "The Simpsons," but I sort of like what he has to say about it, and the title's great:  "The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special In 3D On Ice."

I think it's distinctly possible that Reid Rosefelt has met everyone and done a little bit of everything in this business, which makes his blog a really lovely read.  He's got some charming memories of Kathryn Bigelow to share this week.

Chipotle has got some spine, if you ask me.

I'm hoping to find some time to watch my new BluRay version of "Do The Right Thing" this week, but in the meantime, you can never run enough links to articles that look back at this great, great movie.

Cory Doctorow is a smart guy, and even without living and working in LA, he's articulated something that's on the minds of a lot of the working press here in town.  It's preposterous to think that one of us, in the course of doing our job, is going to take the time to record an entire film on a mobile phone and then upload it on line.

As a parent, what do you do when your teenager puts well over a quadrillion dollars on his credit card?

You know what I love about the internet?  I love the way it unites us in our cultural shames.  Like the laser portrait.  If you don't know what it is, I don't know how to even begin to explain the ubiquity of it.  If you do know... then you will love this website.

Have you guys seen the CineMash series that Mean Magazine is doing?  They started last week with "Sid and Nancy," starring Joey Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel playing Nancy and Sid, respectively, a clever play off a bit of dialogue from "500 Days Of Summer."  Now this week, they've got Cheech and Chong and their take on... "Tron"?

Whatever you thought you were going to see today, I'm going to guess it wasn't that.

There will come a day when David Cronenberg will be gone and his body of work will be complete and people look back and suddenly realize that he is one of the most significant artists to work in horror, or indeed in any genre, in the last thirty years.  Nice to know that some people actually give him his due right now while he can be there to enjoy it.

Please... I know it's summer and that means there are a lot of column inches to fill and not nearly enough news to do it, but stop inventing rivalries that don't exist.  It's bad enough we treat movies like professional sports, like something has to "fail" for something else to "win," but this is just pathetic, particularly from The Wall Street Journal.

Do you like The Muppets?  If not, you're probably a commie robot, so you don't like anything except communism and killing human beings.  For everyone else, this is amazing.

Antonio Banderas, you ain't kidding.

Oh, boy.  You know, I'm sure there are things that are legitimately stolen all the time in Hollywood, but I'm equally sure that there are bazillions of lawsuits filed that are just plain hollow.  No idea which one this is, but even if there were similarities in broad terms, I have real trouble believing that what this guy envisioned has anything to do with what's on the air now.

Okay, Edgar... what the hell is "Baby Driver"?

I'm guessing the only reason we're getting an "American Werewolf In London" BluRay this fall is to tie into the release of "The Wolf Man."  Works for me.

I was sent this link many times for posting here, and I'm happy to include it with one caveat:  it's not true.  At all.  Because it's not true, I can laugh, but if it was, it would truly be one of the saddest examples of curdled fandom of all time.

Kill it! Kill it! Use fire if you have to!

And let's wrap things up today with a movie I saw at Sundance this year, which is now available online.  I don't want to say anything other than... Jason Eisener... you are a weirdo, and I love it.
