To be honest, I'm normally not a fan of studio created features or interviews edited by them, but after watching this conversation between George Clooney and Alexander Payne the chance to exclusively premiere it was just too hard to turn down.
Clooney, who is an acclaimed director in his own right, and Payne, who is a major film nerd of the highest order (and the best way possible), start off chatting about the shooting style of their new film "The Descendants." Their conversation then switches to previous experiences with hand held versus dolly, but then takes an intriguing turn into their mutual love for the classic TV series "The Wire" (who knew?). Clooney got his big break on "E.R." of course, and this lead to him quizzing Payne for his thoughts on working on HBO's pilot for "Hung." Overall, a pretty fun conversation between two gents who know their stuff and well worth taking three minutes to watch.

"The Descendants" opens in limited release on Wednesday and is a must-see for any movie lover.

November 15, 2011 at 12:53PM EST Reply to CommentYou forget, his father's in the media. As someone who went to school for journalism, and worked at a professional newspaper for a couple of years, season 5 of The Wire hit the closest to home for me. Plus, that ending where you see the kids turn into the next generation of the adult characters....very powerful
