Wonderfully timed to Awards Campaign's rundown of who will be left out in the cold in the category, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 20 submissions for Best Animated Feature today.  While a number of the entries still need to meet their Los Angeles qualifying run this is officially confirmation that there will be five entries for the first time since 2002.

Here's the list of submissions.

“The Dolphin – Story of a Dreamer”

“Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs”
“Mary and Max”
“The Missing Lynx”
“Monsters vs. Aliens”
“9”
“Planet 51”
“Ponyo”
“The Princess and the Frog”
“The Secret of Kells”
“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure”
“A Town Called Panic”
“Up”

“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” “The Dolphin – Story of a Dreamer,” “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “Planet 51,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “The Secret of Kells” and “A Town Called Panic” are the features that had their qualifying runs yet.

The 82nd Academy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the inhumane hour of 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
