Toronto's Midnight Madness announces Kevin Smith, 'The Guest,' and a return to '[REC]'

It sounds like this is going to be one wild ride

Okay, I doubt Charles Bronson will be there, but if anyone could pull it off, Colin Geddes could.

There are few things I look forward to with more fervor each year than Toronto's Midnight Madness selection each year. Programmer Colin Geddes is not just a phenomenal ringleader, an instigator of a controlled cinema riot every single night of the festival, but he is also a tremendous friend, the sort of person who is a pleasure to bump into anywhere at any festival in the world.

Matthew McConaughey visits alien worlds in the new trailer for 'Interstellar'

'Now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.'

If you followed HitFix's coverage of Comic-Con, then you know we were extremely high on the new trailer presented for Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar." Paramount managed to get the director down to the San Diego convention for the first time ever (he had somehow never bothered despite his involvement in one of the most popular superhero franchises to date), and the result, apparently, was sheer bliss for the attendees in Hall H. Well, today you can see the trailer for yourself (if you didn't already catch it in theaters over the weekend), and find out what all the fuss was about.

Colin Firth tells the truth about 'Kingsman' and becoming an action hero: 'It hurt'

He seems pretty pleased with the end result, though

It would give me enormous pleasure to report that Colin Firth, when the cameras were off, was a rude, unpleasant bag of garbage. It would delight me to no end to report that as he walked out onto the balcony where we did our interview about his upcoming film "Kingsman: The Secret Service," he punched an orphan and denied someone their basic human rights. I would love to be able to state, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is a terrible person.

Nick Jonas

Watch: Nick Jonas is all grown up in 'Chains' video

How soon before the song is in a '50 Shades of Grey' trailer?

“50 Shades of Grey’s” trailer got it wrong last week when it used a slowed-down version of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love.”

Instead, it should have used Nick Jonas’ “Chains.”  As the new song from the youngest—and most talented— JoBro shows, he has grown up and out (check out those guns) and he’s got a lot on his mind. His previous side project, Nick Jonas & The Administration, certainly didn’t hint at this kind of heat.

The song has a sexy, slow grind, Usher- kind of vibe about how his girl and his passion for her has him all wrapped up in chains. And he’s more than fine with that.

The video, filmed in slow motion and co-directed by Jonas, perfectly matches the song’s sultry, spacey vibe as Jonas gets dragged along the floor and deals with police in riot gear and snarling dogs, to get to his love… or does he?  His love interest is played by Dylan Penn, daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright.

“Chains” is the first single from Jonas’ forthcoming solo album on Island Records. Jonas is also filming DIRECTV’s original series, “Kingdom,” in which he plays a MMA fighter.

'Girls' star can fly in NBC's 'Peter Pan Live!' title role

No, Lena Dunham isn't joining Christopher Walken in NBC's musical

There has been a long history of girls playing the title role in "Peter Pan," so perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that NBC's "Peter Pan Live!" has found its leading lady on HBO's "Girls."

NBC announced on Wednesday (July 30) morning that Allison Williams will play Peter Pan in the network's second live musical, which will air on December 4.

Williams will appear opposite Christopher Walken, who was previously cast as the nefarious Captain Hook.
