U2 tops the 2009's highest-grossing touring artist list

U2’s 360 tour was the top-grossing tour of 2009, according to Billboard.
On only 44 dates, the stadium outing earned a staggering $311,637,730. That was head and shoulders above Madonna, whose tour landed at No. 2 with a none-too-shabby $222,017.248 tallied from 46 shows.
Bruce Springsteen had to work harder for his money (plus his highest ticket price was much lower than U2’s or Madge’s). It took him 72 shows to gross $156,340,910.
Note that with a few exceptions, it could be 1989 instead of 2009.
