It's almost Christmas, so it's obviously time to reveal the host for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, right? Well, maybe not, but with "Jersey Shore" airing its final episode Thursday night MTV decided to use the larger than usual audience to promote next April's annual pseudo-awards event.  The bigger surprise was that the network made the inspired choice to tap Aussie Rebel Wilson as next year's host.

Wilson is best known for her roles in "Bridesmaids" and this fall's word of mouth hit "Pitch Perfect."  Her next role is in Michael Bay's "Pain & Gain."  The 26-year-old West Hollywood resident follows last year's forgettable show hosted by Russell Brand.  Wilson is actually the first female host since Sarah Silverman in 2007.  Since then, Brand, Mike Myers, Andy Samberg, Aziz Ansari and Jason Sudeikis have hosted.

To announce their new host, MTV debuted a short movie trailer featuring Wilson's roommate and "Bridesmaids" co-star Matt Lucas.  Whether it's actually funny or not may depend on your taste in comedy.  Honestly, we're a tad disappointed.  You can watch the short preview embedded at the bottom of this post.

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will be held on April 14, 2013 and broadcast on MTV.

    That Werewolf Guy

I don't get this video. And woman gets whipped with chains, then coughs up a candy bar? Is this a parody of something that I haven't seen?

Am I the only person who can't stand her? I don't know why, but I find her incredibly annoying and so not funny. But good on Michael Bay for not just picking a Victoria Secret Supermodel for her role in Pain & Gain...
