The Sci Fi Channel -- soon to be SyFy -- has ordered "Unfinished Business," a project from Will Smith.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz will executive produce "Unfinished Business" as a two-hour telefilm from Overbrook Entertainment. The movie, if successful, could also serve as a backdoor pilot for Sci Fi.

Written by Sally Robinson ("Iron Jawed Angels"), the project focuses on an ex-cop who begins solving crimes using flashes of memories from the recently deceased.

Directed by TNT good luck charm Mikael Salomon ("The Company," "Salem's Lot"), "Unfinished Business" joins "The Phantom" and "Riverwood" on the slate of Sci Fi telefilms that may evolve into the series projects.

Smith's most recent TV producing credit was UPN's "All of Us." On the feature side, Overbrook has produced "Seven Pounds" and "Lakeview Terrace."
