Wilco streams new 'Wilco (The Album)' for free
The Chicago rock act tries to beat out bad mp3 trades

We're the band that loves you: Wilco
Wilco won't let a little leak ruin its fun. The Chicago rock band has decided to stream its entire new record, the cryptically titled "Wilco (The Album) ," through its website after an illegal version had a heyday on the torrent sites last night.
The 11-track Nonesuch album is currently slated to arrive "in stores and on the nets June 30, at the latest," according to the site.
Keen listeners will hear contributions from Feist on "You and I" and may recall cheeky opening track "Wilco (The Song)" being performed on "The Colbert Report" last October (see video, below). This album comes on the heels of Wilco's last set "Sky Blue Sky," which topped out at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart in 2007.
The free stream concept isn't a new one: the band has utilized the ploy since the controversial release of critically-acclaimed "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" in 2002, in order to discourage listeners from trading low-quality mp3s.
The band starts off on a 39-date international tour on May 23. Dates below.
