Whedon's 'Cabin in the Woods' gets four new guests
Connolly, Hemsworth, Hutchinson and Williams join the cast
Fran Kranz is going from "Dollhouse" to a "Cabin in the Woods."
United Artists announced today that four new actors have joined the cast of director Drew Goddard's thriller "Cabin in the Woods."
Kristen Connolly ("Revolutionary Road"), Chris Hemsworth (the upcoming "Star Trek" reboot), New Zealand actress Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz ("Dollhouse"), and Jesse Williams (Sundance Film Festival entry "Brooklyn’s Finest") will join the previously announced cast members Richard Jenkins (2009 Best Actor nominee for "The Visitor") and Bradley Whitford (Emmy winner for "The West Wing").
The studio is keeping the story tightly under wraps, but has gotten genre fans attention because of producer and co-screenwriter Joss Whedon's involvement.
“Finding this ensemble has been very hard and very rewarding.” Whedon said in a statement from the studio. “Each of the ‘kids’ is unique, fascinating and talented, and like true friends, the group is more than the sum of its parts. These are people you care about, able to go toe-to-toe with the amazing actors we’ve corralled thus far, and not unpretty in the bargain. I can’t wait to harm them.”
"Cabin in the Woods" is currently in production for a Feb. 5, 2010 release.
