Watch: Syfy streams the 'Caprica' pilot for free
A slightly censored version of the pilot is now available for viewing
In an unconventional step, Syfy has decided to stream the pilot for "Caprica" either six weeks before the show's January 2010 premiere, or several months after the pilot was first made available on DVD and on iTunes download.
The version of the "Battlestar Galactica" prequel made available to sites including HitFix is not the same version originally released. For one thing, the nudity featured in the original pilot is, as one might guess, absent. Perhaps as a trade-off for that absent nudity (still available on the DVD and whatnot), the special effects have been upgraded and new scenes have been added.
In addition, the pilot is still undergoing some tweaks before the version Syfy plans to air on Jan. 22, 2010.
For now, though, get to know the Graystones and the Adamas in one version of the "Caprica" pilot.
