"It's an impressive cage...but not built, I think, for me," begins the villainous Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the latest (MSN-premiered) clip from "The Avengers", indicating the transparent enclosure the superhero team has recently imprisoned him in.
On the other side of the glass stand Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the tough-as-nails S.H.I.E.L.D. director who nevertheless informs Loki, after counting down a list of his prior transgressions: "You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did."
Looking on remotely at the exchange are Avengers members Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and what appears to be the rest of the superhero team, but despite their combined strength the majority of them appear more than a little uneasy listening to Loki's taunts.
Finished off with a nice Whedon-esque retort courtesy of Jackson, the brief clip has no action to speak of but boasts some nice acting by rising Brit actor Hiddleston, who reprises his role from last year's "Thor" in the upcoming blockbuster.

"The Avengers" hits theaters on May 4.

April 17, 2012 at 3:19AM EST Reply to CommentWhat's the purpose of showing a film clip when you basically describe the entire contents of the film clip in the article? Someone teach Chris Eggertsen how to set up a clip without rehashing the whole thing, would you?
Sheesh
Anon Presumably it's meant for people who either can't see the clip / don't want to waste time watching it.
