Only scant days since the film confirmed a distributing partner, "The Runaways" has its trailer debut today. Featured is Kristen Stewart as living legend Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Curie in this biopic, which follows the band -- the movie's namesake -- in its formative years.

Young fans who may be unfamiliar with the seminal '70s rock group's history may at least recognize its biggest hit "Cherry Bomb" in clip.

As the narrative explains, the Runaways were a troupe of teenage girls trying to make a hard rock record in a time when it was an all-male music universe.

The trailer indicates that the film will get a spring release in 2010, before "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" drops on June 30. It will get its premiere at Sundance next month. Rock on.

Is that really Dakota Fanning? Holy Crap. She doesn't look anything like herself. Impressive. Looks decent, wish the trailer had shown at least one moment of dialogue or real acting of their two leads. Seems like a waste of a trailer to me. Kristen Stewart needs to prove she doesn't suck like...well..like its her job...which it is.
