Jay Baruchel demonstrates how to throw energy from 'Sorcerer's Apprentice'
'Tropic Thunder' actor talks 'She's Out of My League'
Jay Baruchel says he can play awkward "with my eyes closed," and if you keep your eyes open watching "She's Out of My League," you'll agree.
The "Tropic Thunder" and "Knocked Up" actor took time to chat with HitFix.com about the post-college rom-com, which thrust him back into a scene which he has hopefully abandoned forever: dating. "I put my time in [dating]. Hopefully I don't have to do that anymore" he laughed.

His role as Kirk in "League" has also allowed him to try playing the romantic lead for the first time in his career.
"You've got to be sympathetic and somewhat compelling I suppose... and if you can, find some spots to be a little funny," he says, though it was a role that was handed to him -- he didn't even have to audition.
Another first for Baruchel comes this summer, with the release of Disney's G-rated adventure flick "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," the live-action reimagining of the magical sequence from 1940s animated classic "Fantasia." It's his inaugural project with Disney and the first chance he's gotten to shoot plasma from his hands.
Just what does shooting plasma energy from one's hands look like? Watch the video to find out.
"She's Out of Your League" is released tomorrow (March 12).
