Watch: Henry Cavill gets a workout in new trailer for Tarsem Singh's 'Immortals'

Mickey Rourke, Luke Evans, Freida Pinto co-star in mythological action film

Relativity Media has released an eye-popping new trailer for Tarsem Singh's upcoming mythological action film "Immortals."

In Ancient Greece, when the Titan Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) declares war on humankind, the Olympian gods choose the half-man/half-god Theseus (Henry Cavill) to defend the world.

Singh ("The Cell," "The Fall") has a knack for visuals, and it should be fun to see him apply it to bone-crunching action. However, the CG-heavy virtual sets, the muscle-bound heroes, the slo-mo battles and the Ancient Grecian setting seen in the trailer won't do much to dispel criticisms that this is just a "300" clone (and it's from the same producers).

Still, it looks exciting, and it will be cool to see future Superman Cavill as an ancient hero before he steps into the boots of the 20th century's most famous superhero.

Luke Evans (who'll be seen in "The Hobbit"), Freida Pinto ("Slumdog Millionaire") and Rourke ("The Wrestler") co-star.

The film opens nationwide in 3D and 2D November 11.
