Modest Mouse has released its "No One's First, And You're Next" EP today, and has let loose the music video for track "King Rat," directed by the late Heath Ledger.

Ledger approached MM frontman Isaac Brock in January 2007 with a clip concept that criticized the illegal whaling practices that were occuring off the coast of his home country Australia. The song was born during the sessions for the last Modest Mouse album "We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank."

That title, and Ledger's vision, uniquely lock, as you'll soon see after you watch the music video.

"This began with our friend, a great defender of life, and was completed in his spirit," reads a message at the end of the video. Ledger died in January last year.

Proceeds from the sale of the music video via iTunes for this first month will go toward conservation non-profit Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

"No One' First" is eight songs long and is comprised of other "We Were Dead" B-sides and outtakes, including "Satellite Skin," which also has a music video we love.
