Watch: HBO teases Season 4 of 'Big Love'
Bill Paxton and his extended family return to HBO in January
What better way to promote one of TV's finest shows than to evoke another of TV's finest shows?
Or maybe we're the only ones getting "Mad Men" opening credits flashbacks watching Bill Paxton's Bill Henrickson fall through the air, grasping for any finger-hold, in HBO's teasing first promo for the upcoming fourth season of "Big Love."
The wait has been relatively brief for Season Four, which premieres on HBO on Jan. 10, 2010. The gap between seasons two and three was nearly 17 months, but "Big Love" only finished its third season on March 22, 2009.
So what can viewers expect from the new season of "Big Love"? Well, set to "Untitled" by Interpol, the clip just shows our characters floating, possibly against the tide, in black space. Bill initially appears terrified, then content, as his three wives approach him and then fall away. There's no actual footage from the new season, just the sense of the show's stars being adrift and straining to connect.
That sounds like business-as-usual (in a good way) for "Big Love."
