[CAUTION: SOME SPOILERS AHEAD]
"Dexter" season five wrapped up on a typically bleak but also oddly hopeful note, as Lumen (Julia Stiles) departed Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) life, realizing that her desire to kill had been quenched following the successful murder of Jordan Chase (Johnny Lee Miller), the last surviving member of the group of men who had raped and tortured her.
The episode ended with Dexter at Harrison's first birthday party, finally removing his wedding ring and questioning whether, like Lumen, it was possible that his own "Dark Passenger" might leave him.
Season six picks up one year later, with Dexter now unburdened by any romantic connection. The first episode, premiering tonight and which you can now watch in its entirety above, has him attending his 20-year high school reunion to search for a former quarterback who may have killed his wife, the former prom queen. It also sees the blood-spatter analyst shopping for a preschool for Harrison, which also opens up the main focus of the new season - religion. New recurring players Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks also make their debuts.
