Watch: Ashlee Simpson returns to television on 'CSI:NY'
Pete Wentz also appears as couple attempt to jump start their acting careers
Ashlee Simpson prays she gets more shots at acting again after appearing on this week's "CSI: NY."
Oh, cast of "Undiscovered," where have you gone?
Yes, one of the worst films of 2005 featured the big screen acting debut of one Ashlee Simpson whose Top 40 popularity and some snazzy cinematography couldn't save the movie's lame script and uninspired direction. Her co-stars have floundered as well, except for possibly Steven Strait who managed to get absolutely no career bump by starring in Roland Emmerich's "10,000 B.C.," but at least it almost made $100 million right? And poor Shannyn Sossamon. Online fans loved her last TV series, "Moonlight, but not enough to save it. The overhyped promise after "The Rules of Attraction" and ""A Knight's Tale" feels like and really was almost a decade ago.
Simpson, on the other hand, has kept singing (to some success), married Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and had her first child. What many forget though is that before her music career really took off, Simpson spent a good deal of time between 2002 and 2004 as an actor on over 39 episodes of "7th Heaven." Now, Simpson is returning to her television roots with Wentz in tow as they play a pair of "Bonnie and Clyde Wannabes" in this Wednesday's episode of "CSI: NY."
Here's the official description from CBS:
"Point of No Return" - When a former medical examiner is found murdered, a white powder found at the scene provides the CSIs with a major lead in tracking the killer when it is discovered that the powder is heroin made from human bodies, on CSI: NY, Wednesday, March 18 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Pop Singer and Actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz ("Fall Out Boy") guest star as "Bonnie and Clyde Wannabes."
You can watch Ms. Wentz in action in this clip from the episode.
